This year our Kx User Conference will take place over two days. Please see the details below.

Day 1

Join us on Wednesday 30th October for a day of training. We have listened to your feedback and this year you will have the option to choose which level of training you wish to attend. And don't worry, we will cover both Student and Commercial areas!

Rob is Head of Category Management and Services at Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium. Rob has worked in procurement for many private and public sector organisations, including British Airways, NHS and FSCS and, most recently, within the higher education sector. Rob and SUPC have worked with other higher education consortia and with suppliers to the sector, to understand the potential problems that Brexit may cause and to establish how they intend to mitigate any risks that may arise. Together with Andrew Cormack, he will explore the impact Brexit and GDPR have on the higher education sector.

Andrew joined Janet, the UK's National Research and Education Network, in 1999 to lead its computer emergency response team. Since 2004, he has been Chief Regulatory Adviser, providing guidance on the security, legal and regulatory issues of online systems, with a particular focus on how digital services can enhance privacy. He is currently working on how data can safely be used to improve the provision of learning and student support. In 2015 he was awarded the Vietsch Foundation medal for his role in advancing trust and security within the European research and education sector.

Becky received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications at Waynesburg College and her Master of Business Administration at California University. She is enroled in Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Administration and Leadership Ph.D. program. Becky is also a past president of Meeting Professional Internationals Pittsburgh Chapter. With over 15 years in the meeting and events industry and more than 10 years working in higher education, she brings a mix of experience from both fields.

Lee was previously the Head of Accommodation at The University of Liverpool. Lee was a central part of Liverpool’s transformational residential strategy which involved a £250m capital plan, the creation of 4,000 new bed spaces and the phased decommissioning of older residences. Since joining Kinetic earlier this year, Lee has been working on a number of exciting projects using his experience gained from being a client and highly advanced user across the Kinetic platform.

When does the early bird rate end?

The final chance to receive the early bird discount is Friday 30th August 2019.

What are the start and finish times for each day?

Wednesday 30th Oct: 09:00 – 17:30 | Followed by drinks & dinner in the evening

Thursday 31th: Oct 09:00 – 17:00 | Followed by drinks reception & gala dinner in the evening

Where is the event?

Can I book accommodation for Tuesday, 29th October?

We have limited availability to stay on-site the night before the event. This is on a first come first served basis. You will be able to select this option when booking your ticket. 

How many people can attend per organisation?

The more the merrier! However, we do have a maximum capacity so availability is on a first come first served basis.

What happens if I buy a ticket and change my mind?

 

We understand that sometimes your plans change, the following cancellation fees will apply:

What is the dress code?

For training, conference sessions and the day 1 dinner, business casual is ideal. The Gala dinner is strictly black tie or business attire! 

Do all packages have access to leisure facilities?

Only the packages including an overnight stay include access to the leisure facilities.

Which airport should I travel to?

If you're travelling from the USA or Canada, the best airport for you to use is London Heathrow (LHR). It has great train connections to Milton Keynes Central Station, from which you can take a Taxi/Uber ride to Whittlebury Park, Towcester costing approximately £20 and taking around 20 minutes. 

If you're travelling from the UK or IRE, the closest airports are Birmingham and London Luton, followed by London Heathrow.

Can I get parking?

Yes, Whittlebury Park has a dedicated FREE parking.
