What happened at the Higher Education Partnership Network?

Lee_HEPN event

The start of the month saw the inaugural HEPN event, held at the De Vere Horwood Estate in Milton Keynes. The event was attended by senior leaders from across the Higher Education sector and covered discussions about enhancing student experience, embedding value, TEF, digital learning and technology with a focus on artificial intelligence and Industry 4.0.

Our Chief Operating Officer, David Wilkes, and our Director of Innovation, Lee Rawlinson, attended and discussed research, insights and new initiatives on behalf of Kinetic.

Lee spoke about his experience in the sector and attempts in solving some of the highly manual tasks that exist across university teams:

“I found the event a really thought-provoking way of bringing leaders across higher education together to discuss some of the ongoing challenges that the sector is facing, particularly surrounding the frontline reporting of welfare concerns.
It was clear from universities that there is a real need for dedicated systems designed to support student welfare across academic, accommodation and central support teams.
There is a long road ahead especially on topics of awareness, training and the sharing of sensitive data so I’m excited to be working with leading partner institutions in this area.”

The event marked the start of our student initiative group (SIG) working with a small number of leading universities across the sector to explore the challenges of reporting concerns and case management across university teams.
